01 / WITH INDUSTRY

Industry Collaborations

Applied strategic work with external organizations, connecting academic learning to real business questions.

Selected collaboration summaries will be added here.

02 / BUILT TOGETHER

Projects

Member-led projects put strategic thinking into practice through shared planning and execution.

MAST Curriculum

Better Questions. Stronger Thinkers.

Strategy begins with asking the right question, not rushing to an answer.

At MAST, we learn to define problems clearly, challenge assumptions, and turn evidence into reasoned choices. Frameworks organize our thinking, but never replace judgment. Through case discussions, collaborative analysis, and practical projects, we practice explaining what we recommend, why it makes sense, and what evidence would change our minds.

Built by Members. Strengthened by Every Cohort.

Our curriculum is a shared body of work that grows with our members. Each cohort adds new cases, sharper questions, and stronger learning materials for those who follow. As members grow, they take greater responsibility for guiding discussions, supporting peers, and shaping the curriculum.

This is how we aim to grow MAST: by deepening what we can learn, build, and pass on together.

  1. Define the problem.
  2. Challenge assumptions.
  3. Follow the evidence.
  4. Make a choice.
  5. Share the reasoning.

03 / LEARNING THROUGH CASES

Case Studies

Student strategy analyses of company and industry questions. Recommendations, KPIs, and financial effects are proposed scenarios; they do not establish company engagements or implemented results.

Gong Cha Singapore: Rebuilding Domestic Competitiveness Before Regional Expansion

Company
Gong Cha Singapore

This team presentation evaluates how Gong Cha Singapore could rebuild domestic competitiveness before pursuing broader Southeast Asian expansion. It recommends a premium, lower-sugar children's line, stronger pay, staffing, and training policies, and a more personalized app with a simplified menu. The proposal uses an Ansoff Matrix, business model mapping, implementation sequencing, KPIs, benchmarking, and risk mitigation.

STRATEGIC QUESTION

How should Gong Cha Singapore strengthen domestic competitiveness while building a foundation for longer-term Southeast Asian expansion?

Frameworks

  • Ansoff Matrix and business model mapping
  • Benchmarking, implementation sequencing, and risk mitigation

Key insights

  • The proposal prioritizes home-market competitiveness before regional expansion.
  • Product differentiation, workforce practices, and personalized digital experience form a connected set of initiatives.
  • Testing, pilots, rollout, and risk controls are proposed steps, not measured results.

E-commerce / logistics

Amazon: Lowering Fulfillment Costs Without Weakening Service

Company
Amazon

The deck frames Amazon's retail-margin problem as a logistics-cost problem and concentrates on middle-mile trucking and failed-delivery replacement. It proposes autonomous trucking in Texas and a self-pickup credit, with implementation schedules, sensitivities, and risk mitigations. The analysis is decision-oriented, but several scale, adoption, liability, and cost assumptions require independent validation.

STRATEGIC QUESTION

How can Amazon reduce shipping cost per package without compromising Prime service levels?

Frameworks

  • Logistics cost decomposition
  • Unit economics, sensitivity analysis, and rollout planning

Key insights

  • Breaking a broad margin problem into specific cost pools makes the proposed operational choices more actionable.
  • Self-pickup savings depend on customer adoption and processing assumptions; modeled outputs are scenarios.
  • Autonomous-trucking proposals require safety, regulation, integration, and liability checks before real-world adoption.

Cinema / entertainment

AMC: Rebuilding the Out-of-Home Cinema Proposition

Company
AMC Entertainment

The deck treats AMC's losses as a structural attendance and content-utilization problem rather than a simple pricing issue. It combines a time-sensitive loyalty program, premium-format rereleases, and direct concert-film distribution, then adds implementation steps and financial scenarios. The analysis connects customer propositions with AMC's assets, while causal estimates and external benchmarks require verification.

STRATEGIC QUESTION

How can AMC recover profitability and make theaters more compelling amid streaming competition and weak content utilization?

Frameworks

  • Loyalty and distribution economics
  • Premium-format selection, financial scenarios, and risk

Key insights

  • The proposed portfolio links loyalty to visit frequency, premium rereleases to value per visit, and direct distribution to retained margin.
  • Content selection combines premium-format compatibility, a timely cultural hook, and fandom spending potential.
  • Projected loyalty and concert-film effects remain hypotheses dependent on benchmarks and selected examples.

AI healthcare / medical data

AliveCor and Neurobit: Designing a Compliant Data-Acquisition Strategy

Company
AliveCor and Neurobit

This team solution examines how AliveCor and Neurobit could secure compliant data for healthcare AI. It compares purchased datasets, institutional partnerships, and proprietary collection, then recommends a hybrid approach centered on hospital relationships and a parallel compliance track. The analysis connects partner value exchange with privacy, integration, cost, and timing constraints rather than treating data volume as the only objective.

STRATEGIC QUESTION

How can healthcare-AI startups acquire sufficiently differentiated, representative and compliant data while balancing cost and time?

Frameworks

  • Data-acquisition option comparison
  • Partnership value exchange and compliance constraints

Key insights

  • The proposal treats institutional data access as a mutual value exchange, beyond purchasing nonexclusive datasets.
  • Privacy, consent, anonymization, and integration constraints belong alongside acquisition planning.
  • An owned collection channel can strengthen a data loop, but cross-industry analogies do not prove healthcare feasibility.
